Good to know

Keep your records for six years

CRA record-keeping rule: business records generally have to be kept for six years from the end of the last tax year they relate to. Clean, reconciled books kept in QuickBooks Online make that easy, and make a CRA review far less stressful.

Questions

Common questions

What does bookkeeping cost?
It depends on how many accounts and transactions you have and how often you want your books done. After a free consultation you’ll get a flat monthly fee in writing.
Do I need QuickBooks Online?
We work in QuickBooks Online. If you’re using spreadsheets or other software, we’ll help you move over, and we can set up and manage the subscription for you.
How often will my books be done?
Monthly suits most businesses, especially if you’re registered for GST or have payroll. Quarterly can work for smaller, simpler businesses.
What’s the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?
Bookkeeping records and reconciles your transactions; accounting uses them to prepare financial statements, file taxes and plan. With a CPA overseeing both, nothing gets lost between the two.
